Half-Life: Counter Strike PC Game

As PC games continue to release in a flurry, Half-Life: Counter-Strike is one of the most unique games to come out of late. The mod for Valve Software’s Half-Life has seen a tremendous response over the year and can still be downloaded for free off the internet. But if you do not have the free download version, the retail edition of Counter Strike is a must have.

The retail version delivers a multiplayer mod that is packaged with stand-alone versions of other multiplayer mods and game modes as well. Some of the other games that are included are Team Fortress Classic, Firearms, Redemption, Ricochet and Wanted.

Counter-Strike separates players into teams of terrorists and counter-terrorists in four game modes that include rescue/hold hostages, bomb targets/defuse bomb, escape from/guard an area and assassination/guard a VIP. And while no idea is original in any way, they are realistic and deliver frenzied action that will deliver a thrill.

Users will find the thematically varied maps actually maximize tactical possibilities while delivering alternate routes, multiplayer levels and cover. The games consist of short rounds; you die, you sit out the rest of the round. As a result, this creates a social aspect as dead players can chat and live players stalk each other down.

As expected, the more successful you are the more money you will earn. What this allows for is to buy bigger and better weapons. The only downside to this is that a team can become overwhelmingly powerful if they win a few consecutive rounds.

Regardless, Half-Life: Counter-Strike continues to deliver in terms of weapon selection. This is easily its strongest facet as it offers a knife, assorted grenades, accurately modeled pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles. In addition, the H&K UMP .45, FN Five-Seven and the SIG SG-550 have been added to version 1.0.

All of the maps are visually appealing with imaginative texturing and dramatic lighting effects. The updated character models now use Valve’s model-blending technology. This now offers even better skins than in the past thus creating even better looking player graphics. And the firearm models and skins are some of the best available in any shooter.

Half-Life: Counter-Strike, it is one of the top PC games you will find today. It has tremendous graphics, an impeccable weapon selection, and intense action that will have you glued to the screen. The bottom line is if you do not yet have this game, you are missing out.
