Great for playing airsoft to! December 30, 2009 Jon i play airsoft and i get paintball maskes for playing it (more durable) and i used in a 1 on 1 battle it is so light i thought i didnt have it on half the game. fog resistant and very good product. definatley not a waste of your money!
Overkill December 8, 2009 Jonathan Mettin (Philadelphia, PA USA) The HeadShield will be overkill for most paintball players. For one thing, it gets hot under a mask anyway, and a helmet is twice as bad because the hot air under the helmet has nowhere to go, causing your mask to fog up faster. Also, helmets tend to be harder to adjust and put on. Finally, after a few times playing, you will usually get enough situational awareness to avoid getting shot in the back of the head anyway.
The JT HeadShield is actually a mask with a helmet attachment. Rather than a single band to adjust tightness, now we have to make sure the helmet part is aligned correctly. One of the securing fasteners is smack on top of the head, which is quite painful if your head fills the entire space. Also, to put it on you have to put your chin to the chin of the mask and fold the mask over your head (think how Darth Vader's mask works in Return of the Jedi). If you wear glasses, like I do, this is next to impossible to do with your glasses on (which you kind of need to see while you play, I assume).
However, once the helmet portion is removed, the mask itself is decent (essentially a JT Elite), though it only has a single untreated lens (big thumbs down) and that little silver piece over the mouthguard (unnecessary but aesthetically pleasing) will tend to come off after one or two rough games.
Consider the helmet if you play speedball and get bunkered regularly, but my advice is to stick with a regular mask.
JT Headshield Single Mask October 2, 2009 Allen Lieu (San Gabriel, CA) I just received the helmet. Overall I would say this is a great helmet. I can't wait to test this out.
My only complaint is that the foam digs into the skin when you put on the mask.
This is also a two piece mask where the top part can be removed. You can turn this into a single mask if you want.
Good for airsoft wars April 30, 2009 seamstressexpress (MI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Helmet works well for airsoft wars, but it's a little tight. Having the helmet tight makes the goggles press into cheekbones more. Good product for the money and the company shipped right away.
Awsome. April 26, 2009 Alan R. Aguilera Jr. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Completely protected my melon. the goggles stay clear as long as your on the move and dont stand around breathing hard for fifteen mins (that was the only small issue, but as i said move a little and the air circulation will clear things up.) i got in the head several times during the military games and i heard the thwack of the bbs but didn't feel a thing.
On a side note though i have a really big head, and it came close to fitting but was no good at first. all i did was take 4 rubber binders and tied them several points in the mask (one toward the back on each side and two at the front.) it game the mask enough give to wear and it didnt sacrifice any protection. try it if you have a big head like me.
